Philip Parkes, Chairman After an early career in industry based
marketing roles, Philip spent 16 years
building Harrison Cowley Public Relations in Bristol to become the
largest and most successful agency in the region. He then spent four
years as a director of Paragon Communication, establishing its West
Country presence, before forming Parkes Public Relations and later
Winningtons (Bristol) Ltd, merging the two businesses.
He has extensive experience of most public relations with special
expertise in the fields of corporate and financial public relations
and issues management
Paul Vann, Managing Director has had 18 years in the City, of which six years were in
Corporate Finance broking, and twelve in Financial PR. He
has extensive experience of Corporate transactions, fund raisings,
flotations and IPOs. He is well versed in City Code and London
Stock Exchange regulations, strategy planning, managing client
campaigns, press relations, and stockbroker analysis and also has
extensive fund manager contacts.
Ken Rees, Director Ken enjoyed a distinguished career in broadcast journalism before
joining Winningtons from ITV regional broadcaster HTV where he had been
Controller of News and Current
Affairs. He was also in charge of Marketing and PR for the
company in the West of England. After early years spent with
companies like The Mars Group, J. Lyons, and America`s Pfizer Group,
Ken began his journalistic career at HTV in Bristol. He left in
1978 to spend over 12 years as a Correspondent with News at Ten.
He has worked in most parts of the world and was for six years ITN`s
Washington Correspondent. In 1986 he was honoured by the Royal
Television Society as Television Reporter of the Year.
Tom Cooper, Director Holding a Financial Services degree
from Bristol BusinessSchool, Tom started out as a graduate
trainee with the corporate division of the Nat West Group. Moving to
Australia in 1998 he commenced in Financial Recruitment, working with
clients including Citibank/Salomon Smith Barney, Deutsche Bank, AMP and HSBC.
He returned to Bristol in 2001 and enjoyed notable success in supporting
small and mid cap businesses in the South of England before joining Winningtons
at the beginning of 2006.
